Claiming to be a 'crypto investment expert,' the scammer lured her into the trap. Initially, the scammer persuaded the victim to transfer HK$40,000 as a fee to open an account on an investment website. Later, the victim was instructed to exchange cash for USDT at a physical exchange store in seven separate transactions and transfer the USDT to the scammer via an electronic wallet. Once the funds were secured, the scammer disappeared.
