Nic Carter: Why Didn't Satoshi Nakamoto Fix Bitcoin's Early Quantum Vulnerability? On January 10, 2026, Castle Island Ventures partner Nic Carter discussed this issue on the Delphi Digital podcast. Satoshi Nakamoto had explicitly mentioned the quantum threat but left a vulnerability affecting 1 to 2 million early Bitcoins. Carter believes this was because, in 2010, Bitcoin's value was essentially zero and the code was easy to modify. At the time, Satoshi thought it could simply be upgraded if cracked, failing to foresee today's massive scale of interests and the difficulty of system upgrades. Source: Delphi Digital
