The first negotiation not working out is probably normal—we already expected this during the talks. After all, Israel hasn’t ceased fire in Lebanon yet. But this round of negotiations wasn’t completely fruitless; at least the current ceasefire status is being maintained. For now, the ceasefire, initially expected to last 2 weeks, might be extended. The U.S. doesn’t seem to have any solid plans for the Strait of Hormuz at the moment. Trump seems a bit anxious—on the 8th, he mentioned increasing tariffs on countries supplying weapons to Iran, but there hasn’t been any follow-up. Today, he’s talking about strictly prosecuting anyone involved in buying or selling sanctioned Iranian oil. At this point, it’s good news if the U.S. and Iran don’t escalate the conflict. Oil prices will likely rebound on Monday. The BCLUSDT funding rate has already hit 0.5%, so going long is too costly right now. I’ll just wait for a chance to short at a higher level.
