[Iranian Media: Iranian Parliament Speaker to Meet Pakistani Prime Minister to Discuss Format of Iran-U.S. Negotiations]
According to a report by Jinse Finance on April 11, citing the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) on the same day, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf will hold talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to determine the timing and format of negotiations between Iran and the United States.
Additionally, according to Tasnim News Agency, the Iranian side will raise the issue of the U.S. breaching its commitments during the talks with the Pakistani Prime Minister. The prerequisites for initiating negotiations include unfreezing Iranian assets and a ceasefire in Lebanon. The U.S. has informed Pakistan that it agrees to these prerequisites and other conditions for starting negotiations.
The Iranian delegation plans to assess the U.S. position and its fulfillment of commitments during the talks before deciding whether to proceed with negotiations. Tasnim News Agency also reported in a separate article that if Iran and the U.S. proceed with negotiations, the current plan is for the talks to begin later on the evening of the 11th and potentially last only one day.
