Circle's response is a masterclass in deflection. I’m disturbed and disappointed. Circle basically admitted they had the power to act, but chose to look the other way. When the ICON Network was exploited in 2020, it took validators and CEXs 10 hours to mobilize and freeze stolen funds. It then took 5 years of legal battles, but the system worked and funds were returned. Circle did the opposite: they sat back and watched the hacker drain everything. Unliked a decentralized network like ICON, they have the power to act quickly. They chose convenience over community, then blamed the law instead of their own inaction. Morally unjustifiable. Should @circle be held accountable? Do @DriftProtocolTR victims have a case against Circle? I'd recommend talking to @manatt and @ohaiom (MoCo).(Min 🥤)
