[Starknet v0.14.2 Voting Now Open, Ends April 16]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on April 10, Starknet announced via the X platform that voting for Starknet v0.14.2 is now open. This upgrade includes SNIP-36, SNIP-37, and SNIP-13, along with internal adjustments to prepare the network for the decentralized validation phase described in SNIP-33, which is planned to launch later this year.
This release focuses on three core objectives:
- Enabling in-protocol S-Two proof verification, which will pave the way for low-cost privacy use cases and zk-thread applications.
- Adjusting the storage economic model to more accurately reflect actual network resource usage while maintaining cost efficiency for developers.
- Upgrading the StarkGate token contract to optimize ERC-20 event indexing, verification, and token handling.
The update also introduces internal upgrades related to the next phase of decentralization, including peer-to-peer (p2p) improvements, weighted proposer sampling, and the introduction of the virtual proposer concept. STRK holders are encouraged to review the pre-release notes and related SNIPs before voting. Voting will close on April 16.
