1) Gambling associations don’t give a fuck about societal benefit, just that they don’t get their pound of flesh. 2) The numbers are wrong. Much of this volume would not have went to gambling venues as different entities use fair transparent markets with cheaper fees. For example, no commercial market maker or fund doing block trades, is betting in a casino.
