[White House: Iran Has Indicated It Will Transfer Enriched Uranium]
BlockBeats News, April 9 — White House Press Secretary Levitt stated on Wednesday local time that Iran has indicated it will transfer its stockpile of enriched uranium, calling this one of Trump's key priorities. Trump has stated that one of the main reasons for initiating war was to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, while Iran has long denied having such intentions.
Levitt said during the briefing: 'This is a red line the President will never compromise on. He is committed to ensuring this matter is carried out.' When asked whether Iran had indeed indicated it would transfer uranium, Levitt responded: 'Yes, they have indicated so.' However, she did not disclose specific details.
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Grossi stated that nearly half of Iran's enriched uranium, with a maximum purity of 60%, is stored in a network of tunnel facilities in Isfahan, and it is highly likely that the uranium remains there. These tunnel facilities were the only targets seemingly not severely damaged during the U.S.-Israel strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities last June.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Hegseth previously stated: 'Currently, it is buried underground, and we are closely monitoring it. We are fully aware of what they possess, and they themselves know this as well.' He also noted that, if necessary, Washington reserves the right to launch further military strikes to destroy this enriched uranium. (Jin10)
