Lebanese Speaker Calls Israeli Airstrikes a Blatant War Crime The Speaker of Lebanon's Parliament has condemned Israel's latest round of airstrikes as blatant war crimes. Just hours after the U.S. and Iran reached a ceasefire agreement, Beirut was hit by the largest-scale attack to date. Nabih Berri stated that the airstrikes targeted large areas in Beirut's southern suburbs, the Bekaa Valley, Mount Lebanon, Sidon, and multiple villages in southern Lebanon, resulting in hundreds of civilian casualties in densely populated communities. Berri said, 'Today's crime is a serious test for the international community and a blatant challenge to all international laws, norms, and conventions. Israel continues to target civilians, openly violating these international standards.' He called on Lebanon's political, religious, and civil leaders to unite in support of the victims, emphasizing that this solidarity is even more crucial as the country faces what he described as Israel's killing machine and its brutal acts in the genocidal war against Lebanon.
