Iran has started charging a $1 per barrel transit fee for oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
This strait handles about one-third of the world's crude oil supply, with an average daily flow of around 20 million barrels.
Based on this volume, Iran will generate an additional $20 million in daily revenue.
The payment method for this fee is strictly limited to cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, stablecoins) or the Chinese yuan, with the US dollar excluded from the transaction system.
