After Anthropic's price adjustment on April 4th, many people using OpenClaw + Claude saw their costs increase by 50 times.
Today, Ollama officially announced something that I think can help ease everyone's urgent needs. Ollama Cloud launched a $20/month plan that allows you to directly run OpenClaw.
Just open the terminal and input:
`ollama launch openclaw`
Then select a model. Supported options include: `kimi-k2.5:cloud`, `glm-5:cloud`, and `minimax-m2.7:cloud`.
$20 per month is a huge money-saver compared to Anthropic's post-adjustment pricing, where you could burn through $5,000 in a single day. Of course, I think this is more suitable for daily workflows, especially tasks that don't require deep thinking.
I'm planning to install it this week to see how it performs. If open-source large models like Kimi can run typical workflows in OpenClaw, then $20/month could indeed save a lot of costs.
So, closed-source API price hikes = the biggest driver for open-source ecosystems. Every time Anthropic raises its prices, the open-source ecosystem might gain a new batch of users.
