[Société Générale: If the Fed Stays Put This Year, the Dollar May Trade in a Range] Odaily Planet Daily News – Société Générale analyst Kit Juckes stated in a report that if the Federal Reserve keeps interest rates unchanged for the remainder of the year as expected, the dollar may exhibit range-bound movement. He noted that the market anticipates all G10 central banks, except the Federal Reserve, to raise interest rates. Despite this, among G10 economies, only Sweden is forecasted to have a growth rate exceeding that of the U.S. this year. These interest rate expectations limit the dollar's potential for appreciation. However, if the Federal Reserve significantly cuts rates against a backdrop of high inflation and loose fiscal policy, the dollar is likely to weaken. (Jin10)
