[Iran Proposes Using Strait 'Toll Fees' for Reconstruction, Oman to Split Half] According to a report by Golden Finance on April 7, Iranian state media reported that Iran on Monday proposed a ten-point plan aimed at ending the war with the United States and Israel. The plan was conveyed via Pakistan, but it seems unlikely to resolve major issues before the deadline set by Trump. Two senior Iranian officials stated that the proposal includes guarantees that Iran will not be attacked again, a halt to Israeli attacks on Lebanon's Hezbollah, and the lifting of all sanctions. In exchange, Iran would lift the de facto blockade of the critical Hormuz Strait. Iran also plans to charge approximately $2 million per transiting vessel and split the revenue equally with Oman, located on the opposite side of the strait. Under the plan, Iran would use the proceeds to rebuild infrastructure destroyed by attacks from the United States and Israel, rather than directly demanding compensation. (The New York Times)
