The office of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has consistently supported the work of the Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology. During Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei's visit to the UK at the end of May, the UK plans to present this proposal to Amodei. Previously, the US government blacklisted Anthropic, citing the company as a national security supply chain risk due to its refusal to allow the military to use its AI chatbot Claude for surveillance or autonomous weapon systems.
