[F2Pool Co-Founder Wang Chun: Bitcoin Protocol Upgrades Should Not Be Forced Through Like 'Bundled Bills']
According to a report by Jinse Finance, F2Pool co-founder Wang Chun stated on the X platform that Bitcoin protocol upgrades should not adopt the approach of 'bundled bills' forcibly pushed through, as seen with some U.S. politicians. This is also a key reason for his opposition to BIP-110 and BIP-54.
Several issues under discussion lack actual urgency: for instance, while 'timewarp attacks' have existed for a long time, they provide no substantial benefit to miners' revenue; block verification efficiency has already been significantly improved due to libsecp256k1 and hardware upgrades, making protocol-level adjustments unnecessary; and the issue of 'forged confirmed transactions' fundamentally relies on breaking double SHA256 collisions, which, if achieved, would signify a breach of Bitcoin's core security.
Wang Chun added that these issues are insufficient to warrant protocol modifications. Currently, only the issue of 'duplicate transactions' holds some value for resolution and may be one of the few changes worth implementing.
