Elon Musk has started recruiting chip engineers to make his own chips, and he mentioned that they already possess the core conditions necessary for chip manufacturing. A lot of people are questioning whether this attempt will succeed. It reminds me of the early days of SpaceX when he was developing rockets. Musk once said that achieving big things isn’t about relying on 'miracles' or luck, but about breaking down complex problems into a limited number of key elements and solving them one by one. The entire process of rocket manufacturing and launching seems complicated, but he summarized the core steps into just 27. As long as those 27 'elements' are gathered and optimized, the rocket can successfully launch. I think this time he’s doing the same—breaking down the problem and believing it can all be solved. I often use first principles thinking for my own investments. Many people think of investing as finding some 'holy grail of trading' or 'secret method,' gaining an 'information edge to pick the right stock,' or 'copying the moves of big players.' But if you apply Musk’s way of thinking, it’s more like breaking the entire process into basic modules: first, eliminate the unnecessary (like chasing trends or frequent trading), then simplify (focus on a few high-certainty opportunities), and finally accelerate execution (build a system instead of relying on gut feelings). Solve your weaknesses one by one, systematize your trading approach, and investing becomes a very boring thing. Since I figured this out, most of my time has been spent researching companies, organizing reports, learning to use AI, and doing other things. If there’s no fish, I don’t hang around the shore. When the market aligns with what I understand, I make a move. If I’m wrong, I admit it and try again next time. As long as the fishing rod (capital) is intact, the pond isn’t going anywhere. Sticking by the pond through wind, rain, and thunderstorms without leaving just turns you into an air force fisherman—participating for self-comfort but gaining nothing of real value.
