[Ukrainian Presidential Chief of Staff: U.S. Envoy Expected to Visit Kyiv This Month to Promote Resumption of Negotiations]
Golden Finance reported on April 4 that, according to foreign media, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's Chief of Staff Kyrylo Budanov stated that Ukraine expects U.S. senior envoy Whitkov and former President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner to lead a delegation to Kyiv this month to push for the resumption of peace talks. The delegation may arrive shortly after Orthodox Easter on April 12. Although Whitkov and Kushner have previously traveled to Russia multiple times for meetings with Putin, this will be their first visit to Ukraine. Budanov mentioned that Republican Senator Lindsey Graham might also accompany them.
An American official noted that the possibility of Whitkov and Kushner visiting Ukraine is under discussion but has not yet been finalized. Budanov stated that Kyiv could receive stronger commitments with the visit of the U.S. delegation. Additionally, Budanov mentioned that as the Iran war enters its sixth week, driving up global oil and fuel prices, Ukraine has received requests from foreign allies to suspend routine airstrikes on Russian refineries. He said, 'We will respond diplomatically. We have indeed received relevant signals,' but did not provide further details. (Jin10)
