[French President Macron: Militarily Reopening the Strait of Hormuz is Unrealistic] Odaily Planet Daily News – French President Emmanuel Macron stated that attempting to reopen the Strait of Hormuz through military means is "unrealistic." Speaking to reporters during his visit to Seoul on Thursday, he remarked that such actions would involve uncertain timelines and expose participants to risks from the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. "This has never been an option we have chosen; we believe it is unrealistic," Macron said. "We must be able to reopen this strait because it holds strategic significance for energy, fertilizers, and international trade, but this can only be achieved through negotiations with Iran." He emphasized that the first step should be achieving a ceasefire, followed by restarting negotiations, while implementing security measures to help ensure that ships are not attacked. "The world also cannot afford a situation where Iran can decide at any moment to open or close this strait," Macron added. (Jin10)
