Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu delivered a video speech, stating that although Iran and its supported armed forces 'still possess limited capabilities to threaten Israel, they can no longer threaten Israel's survival.'
In his speech, Netanyahu listed Israel's achievements against Iran, including weakening Iran's nuclear program, ballistic missile program, infrastructure, domestic security forces, and leadership. He also mentioned Israel's military actions against Hamas, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthi forces in Yemen, and Palestinian armed groups in the West Bank, claiming that Israel has established extensive 'buffer zones' in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon.
Is this speech part of Netanyahu's propaganda strategy in case the U.S. decides to end its conflict with Iran?
The direction of the Iran situation and Netanyahu's stance are also crucial. He has always been eager to eliminate Iran, and during the U.S.-Iran Geneva talks in February and the indirect communication between the U.S. and Iran via third parties in late March, Netanyahu completely stayed out of it. If he continues to take a hardline stance, it will be difficult for Trump to fully disengage. So, Netanyahu's statement today is worth paying attention to.
