[UAE's Largest Energy Company Chief: Iran's Strait Blockade is 'Economic Blackmail']
Odaily Planet Daily News – The head of the UAE's largest energy company stated that Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, cutting off Middle Eastern energy supplies, constitutes 'global economic blackmail.' Sultan Al Jaber, CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), wrote on LinkedIn that the de facto closure of this critical waterway is a 'threat the world cannot tolerate.' He said: 'The world must act—together—to ensure the free flow of energy and maintain economic stability.' Al Jaber, who is also a UAE government minister, has been one of the country's most outspoken business leaders in criticizing Iran and calling for the reopening of the strait. Last month, he stated that Iran is 'weaponizing energy flows' and described this behavior as 'economic terrorism.' (Jin10)
