Standard Chartered Bank's latest report highlights that the velocity of stablecoins within on-chain systems has risen significantly in recent times. Over the past two years, the overall turnover frequency has roughly doubled to an average of 6 times per month, exceeding previous long-term stable expectations. Standard Chartered believes this growth is primarily driven by new use cases for stablecoins in traditional financial payment alternatives and AI-powered payment scenarios. Although the increased velocity may somewhat reduce the demand for new issuance, Standard Chartered still maintains its forecast that the total stablecoin supply will reach $2 trillion by 2028.
