Google sets the 2029 deadline: Has the 'quantum reckoning' for Bitcoin and Ethereum been moved up? Just a few days ago, we were talking theory, and now the research paper is hitting us right in the face. Google Quantum AI just released a white paper, officially setting the deadline for full migration to post-quantum cryptography (PQC) at 2029. Google's algorithm optimization: For the secp256k1 curve, theoretically, it would only take a few minutes to reverse-engineer a private key from a public key. Oratomic breakthrough: Using neutral atom technology, the number of physical quantum bits required for cracking has been reduced from tens of millions to 26,000 (a 40x reduction!). Vulnerable assets: Currently, approximately 6.8 million BTC are stored in addresses that are theoretically susceptible to attacks (especially early public key addresses that were not hashed). What do you all think—will Satoshi Nakamoto's address become the first target to be 'brute-forced' by quantum computing?
