[Steakhouse: Official website temporarily offline but vaults operating normally, previously caused by OVH account breach leading to domain hijacking]
Foresight News reports that DeFi project Steakhouse Financial has released the latest update regarding the recent security incident. It stated that the Steakhouse.financial website remains offline, with DNS records pointing to a blank page, but the Steakhouse Vaults website is fully operational and can be accessed directly via Morpho. Deposits, withdrawals, and all vault functionalities are running normally. Once the front-end is restored, users will receive confirmation notifications.
Steakhouse explained that the attack originated from a phone-based social engineering attack targeting OVH Cloud, through which the attacker gained domain management permissions for Steakhouse Financial. The attacker redirected the DNS A records of the official website and App subdomain to a malicious IP and attempted to initiate a domain transfer with a 5-day lock-in period. The team stated that all related changes have been rolled back, the domain records have been temporarily cleared, and the vaults, smart contracts, and all deposited funds remain unaffected, ensuring the safety of user assets.
