[Iran Insists It Has Not Engaged in Talks with the U.S. Since the Outbreak of War]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on March 31, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei stated on social media that Iran has not engaged in any negotiations with the United States since the U.S. initiated war against Iran. "In these 31 days, we have not conducted any negotiations with the United States," Baghaei said. "The current situation is that the U.S. has conveyed requests for negotiations and a package of proposals to us through certain intermediaries, including Pakistan."
He emphasized that Iran's stance on a ceasefire remains unchanged. "Our position is very clear. At present, due to the ongoing full-scale military aggression and invasion by the United States, all our efforts and capabilities are focused on defending Iran's fundamental interests."
Baghaei further stated that Iran "will not forget the two betrayals of diplomatic means within less than a year." The first betrayal he referred to was the 12-day war in June 2025, during which the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on Iran's military and nuclear facilities during negotiation periods.
