[Pro-AI Group to Invest $100 Million in U.S. Midterm Elections]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow on March 30, the Financial Times reported that a new pro-AI group backed by Donald Trump advisor David Sacks plans to invest at least $100 million in this November's U.S. midterm elections to support candidates. The industry is attempting to counter calls for stricter regulation of this technology. The planned expenditure by 'Innovation Council Action' builds on nearly $200 million already raised by other pro-AI organizations and will make policies related to this technology a key battleground in the fight for control of Congress.
Last year, a political action committee called Leading the Future, supported by donors including OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman, venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz, and Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale—who have also donated to Trump—raised $125 million to support pro-AI candidates.
