[Iran: Negotiations on the Strait of Hormuz Require a Commitment Not to Invade Iran]
According to The Wall Street Journal, Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref stated that if relevant parties wish to negotiate over the Strait of Hormuz, they must commit to not invading Iran and recognize Iran's international rights. Aref's remarks echoed the tone of Trump's earlier statements, where he claimed that Iran's enemies are 'begging us' to negotiate over this critical waterway. According to Iran's national broadcaster IRIB, Aref said: 'They must utter these golden words: "We will no longer invade Iran and will recognize all of Iran's international rights."' He further added: 'We shall wait and see!'
