CZ: Missed the meeting with Jeff because I overslept Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) responded to the buzz on Twitter about him and Hyperliquid founder Jeff during an interview on the threadguy channel on October 11, 2025. CZ stated that he doesn’t know Jeff personally since they’ve never met in person. He only knows that Jeff was part of the first incubation program at Binance Labs. CZ mentioned that the two had planned a casual chat earlier this year, but he missed it because he “set the alarm wrong and overslept.” Since there was no clear agenda between them, they didn’t reschedule the meeting. However, CZ said he doesn’t regret missing it, as Binance prefers investing in early-stage projects, and Hyperliquid was already quite large at the time.
