[The Total Fundraising of Crypto Payment Companies in 2025 Surges to $2.6 Billion, Exceeding the Combined Total of the Past Three Years]
BlockBeats News, March 27, according to Bloomberg, the total private fundraising in the cryptocurrency sector increased from nearly $13 billion in 2024 to $20.4 billion in 2025, though it remains below the peak of $27.6 billion in 2022. The two primary areas of private fundraising are 'investment and trading infrastructure' and 'brokerages and exchanges' (i.e., financial applications). Payment infrastructure ranks third.
The total funds raised by cryptocurrency payment companies in 2025 will surge to $2.6 billion, exceeding the combined total raised over the past three years. Given the recent acquisition of BVNK by Mastercard, this figure is expected to grow further this year.
In contrast, blockchain gaming funding has plummeted from $3.76 billion in 2022 (approximately 14% of the total) to a level in 2025 where it is no longer reported as a standalone category. Web3 dApps raised $5.2 billion in 2022. However, in the 2025 report, the category of consumer-focused dApps alone secured only $864 million in funding.
