Ballot Chattel Part 1
Bad leftist policy isn’t just some kind of naive, well-intentioned but inadvertently counterproductive policy. These policies are intentionally counterproductive because leftist politicians gain more power when poor people are made poorer. The worse their constituents do and the greater the inequality that exists, the more power the dems gain, so the goal of the dems is to actively make things worse for their own ballot chattel.
They do this by suggesting things they know will not work but which sound plausible enough. It is much easier to suggest higher taxes on the rich or corporations than to explain how inflation, excessive spending, corruption, or Fed policy are the engines of inequality. This creates a perfect equilibrium for the dems. The ballot chattel are kept in the dark and fed bullshit while their situation gets worse and resentment builds. The greater the resentment, the greater the power the dem politicians gain.
As a thought experiment, imagine a world with no economic inequality. The left would have no power here at all because leftism requires the harnessing of the grievance of inequality. No grievance = no power. So in this hypothetical world, the leftists would then try to find inequality in other aspects of life beyond the economic. The leftism would be the party of ugly, short, fat, or retarded people. And now imagine that the leftist politicians had a sneaky way to make ugly people uglier or short people shorter or fat people fatter or retarded people more retarded. Would they do that? Absolutely because the greater the inequality, the greater the grievance and resentment and the greater their power.
Left politics is essentially “worse is better”. By “fixing” the problems they purport to care about, the dems destroy their own power base. It’s cobra problems all the way down.(Galois Kevin)
