Four possible 'fatal strike' scenarios: 1) Invading or blockading Kharg Island; 2) Invading Larak Island, which helps Iran strengthen its control over the Strait of Hormuz; 3) Occupying the strategically significant Abu Musa Island and two smaller islands near the western entrance of the strait; 4) Intercepting or seizing Iranian oil tankers exiting the eastern side of the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. military is also preparing plans for ground operations deep into Iran's interior to seize enriched uranium stored in nuclear facilities. To avoid such complex and high-risk actions, the U.S. may opt for large-scale airstrikes on these facilities to prevent Iran from obtaining these materials.
