Iran stated that if the U.S. attacks its territory or islands, it might close the critical Bab el-Mandeb Strait. If both the Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb Straits are closed, the halted production capacity could reach nearly 25 million barrels per day, accounting for about 25% of global supply.
