[Foreign Media: AI Startup Manus Founders Banned from Leaving the Country]
According to the Financial Times, Chinese regulators are reviewing Meta's approximately $2 billion acquisition of AI startup Manus and have restricted two founders from leaving the country. Reports indicate that founders Xiao Hong (肖弘) and Ji Yichao (季逸超) were recently summoned by the National Development and Reform Commission in Beijing to be questioned regarding potential violations of regulations related to outbound direct investment. They were subsequently informed that they are not allowed to leave China.
