[Ministry of Commerce: Measures such as the Mexican government's increase in import tariff rates on products from China and other non-FTA partners constitute trade and investment barriers as defined in Article 3 of the 'Rules on Investigation of Foreign Trade Barriers'] Announcement No. 16 of 2026 by the Ministry of Commerce publishes the final conclusion of the trade and investment barrier investigation into Mexico's restrictive measures related to China. According to the relevant provisions of the 'Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China' and the 'Rules on Investigation of Foreign Trade Barriers,' the Ministry of Commerce issued Announcement No. 53 of 2025 on September 25, 2025, deciding to conduct a trade and investment barrier investigation into Mexico's restrictive measures related to China. The investigation has now concluded, and based on the results and the provisions of Article 31 of the 'Rules on Investigation of Foreign Trade Barriers,' the Ministry of Commerce has determined that measures such as the Mexican government's increase in import tariff rates on products from China and other non-FTA partners constitute trade and investment barriers as defined in Article 3 of the 'Rules on Investigation of Foreign Trade Barriers.'
