According to Yonhap News, Daegu City in South Korea has announced a special campaign to address local tax arrears and will strengthen the investigation of hidden assets. This includes using Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) information to track funds and seizing assets such as virtual assets, medical insurance fees, and various refunds. The local government stated that measures such as restricting business licenses, publicizing lists, and conducting residential searches will be taken against malicious high-value tax evaders.
