According to a joint statement by Israeli police and the domestic security agency (Shin Bet), Cohen had served in a unit responsible for the 'Iron Dome' air defense system. During his contact with Iranian intelligence personnel, he provided sensitive information related to the 'Iron Dome' system, details about military bases, and the names of Israeli security officials. In return, he received cryptocurrency equivalent to approximately $1,000 as payment. Cohen faces charges including assisting the enemy during wartime, transmitting information to the enemy with the intent of endangering national security, and sharing information that could benefit the enemy. Under Israeli criminal law, assisting the enemy during wartime carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment or even the death penalty.
