Claude Introduces Computer Control Feature, Allowing Direct Task Execution on User's Computer
Foresight News|Mar 24, 2026 01:49
Foresight News reports that Claude announced via a tweet that users can now enable Claude to operate their computers to complete tasks. This feature allows for desktop operations such as opening applications, browsing websites, filling out spreadsheets, and more. Currently, it is in a research preview phase and is only supported on macOS. It can be used in Claude Cowork and Claude Code.
Claude will prioritize using connected integrated applications (such as Slack, Calendar, etc.). When the required tools lack connectors, it will request user permission to directly open applications on the screen. Users can assign tasks via their phones and then step away, reviewing the results later on their computers. Additionally, users can set up recurring tasks, such as having Claude scan emails every morning or pull reports every Friday. This feature is currently available only to Pro and Max users.
