[Iranian Official: Iran and the U.S. Have Exchanged Messages via Egypt and Turkey]
Odaily Planet Daily News - On the 23rd local time, a senior Iranian official stated that U.S. President Trump has no authority to set conditions or deadlines for negotiations. The official revealed that Iran and the U.S. have exchanged messages through Egypt and Turkey in an effort to ease tensions, but the U.S. has yet to accept Iran's two core conditions: compensation for damages and acknowledgment of violations against Iran. The official also mentioned that the issues of closing the Strait of Hormuz and laying mines remain among Iran's prepared options for potential actions. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei said on the 23rd that Iran has received messages from several friendly countries in recent days regarding the U.S.'s request to end the war through negotiations. Iran has responded appropriately based on its principled stance and has not held any negotiations with the U.S.
