[Ledger Co-Founder Kidnapping Case Solved, Spanish Police Arrest Final Fugitive]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on March 23, according to DL News, David Balland, co-founder of France's Ledger, was kidnapped by a criminal gang in January 2025. The perpetrators severed his finger and extorted $11.5 million worth of Bitcoin. Following the incident, police acted swiftly, rescuing Balland and his partner while arresting 10 suspects at the scene. However, one suspect managed to flee to Spain amidst the chaos. After weeks of joint pursuit by French and Spanish police, the suspect was finally apprehended in Benalmádena, Spain. The Fuengirola court is currently advancing extradition proceedings under the EU European Arrest Warrant agreement. French authorities have confirmed that all individuals involved in the case have been identified and arrested.
