According to a report by the Economic Times of India, Coinbase-backed Indian crypto exchange CoinDCX stated that its co-founders, Sumit Gupta and Neeraj Khandelwal, were arrested by police in connection with a scam involving fake websites. The company clarified that the related FIR (First Information Report) stems from an identity theft incident, where fraudsters created numerous fake websites impersonating CoinDCX to carry out scams. So far, around 1,212 fake websites have been identified.
