[The U.S. Conditionally Eases Sanctions on Iranian Oil for 30 Days]
According to CCTV News, as reported by Jin10, the United States approved a 30-day authorization on March 20 local time, conditionally easing sanctions on Iranian oil. For Iranian crude oil and petroleum products that had been loaded onto ships as of March 20, their delivery and sale are permitted. U.S. Treasury Secretary Besant stated that the Treasury Department is issuing a 'narrow-scope, short-term authorization' to allow the sale of Iranian oil currently stranded at sea. By temporarily releasing the existing oil supply, the U.S. will quickly provide approximately 140 million barrels of oil to the global market. The temporary, short-term authorization is strictly limited to oil already in transit.
