[F2Pool Co-founder Wang Chun Speaks Out on BIP-110 Controversy: Bitcoin Should Not Be Sanctified, Extremism Hinders Innovation]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, F2Pool co-founder Wang Chun voiced his opinion on the BIP-110 controversy on the X platform, harshly criticizing Bitcoin maximalists. He stated that most supporters of BIP-110 'lack competitiveness' and accused the group of transforming Bitcoin from an innovative economic concept into an ideology with religious overtones. This group, he argued, dismisses any attempts at scaling or functional improvements as 'altcoin attacks,' masking a lack of innovation with 'moral accusations' and relying on antagonistic sentiments to sustain their stance. Wang Chun believes that while other sectors are advancing in areas such as DeFi, privacy, and payment infrastructure, these extremists are more focused on 'gatekeeping' rather than solving real-world problems. He emphasized that Bitcoin should not become a system that is 'too sacred to use, too rigid to evolve,' nor should it devolve into a digital religion.
