[Morgan Stanley Submits Revised S-1 Filing to Advance Bitcoin ETF Application]
BlockBeats News, March 20: According to The Block, Morgan Stanley has submitted the second version of its S-1 revised filing for its Bitcoin ETF application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The ETF was initially filed for application in January of this year, and the latest revision confirms that the fund, named 'Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust,' will be listed on NYSE Arca under the trading symbol MSBT.
The document provides more specific product details: the basket size is set at 10,000 shares, with an initial seed basket of 50,000 shares planned, aiming to raise approximately $1 million. Morgan Stanley also disclosed that, for auditing purposes, it purchased 2 shares of the ETF on March 9.
The first version of the revision, submitted earlier this month, had already clarified that BNY Mellon will serve as the cash custodian, administrator, and transfer agent, while Coinbase will act as the primary broker. This latest revision signifies progress in the application process, though final approval is not guaranteed. If approved, Morgan Stanley would become the first major U.S. bank to directly issue and sponsor its own spot Bitcoin ETF.
