Recently, a lot of friends have been talking about life in Japan. From my personal experience, Japan is a very livable country. Of course, China is great too, but when it comes to the crypto industry, there are certain restrictions in China. In Japan, the biggest limitation is probably taxes. Aside from the tax issue, I think life in Japan is pretty comfortable for foreigners.
Especially for those who aren’t at the top of the pyramid, Japan’s cost of living isn’t high—housing isn’t expensive, food prices are reasonable, and the overall cost-effectiveness of daily life is pretty good. Public safety in certain cities and areas is also acceptable. Of course, apart from daily life, Japan does have natural risks, but precisely because of these risks, Japan has a very strong awareness of safety.
I’ve discussed this with many friends around me—if getting residency in Singapore turns out to be impossible, there’s a high chance we’d move to Japan.
But for me personally, I prefer something small and beautiful rather than big and comprehensive. Life in Singapore feels more peaceful and laid-back.
