DeepTech TechFlow reports on March 18 that, according to a data center expansion strategy released by the German government on March 17 local time, Germany's general data center computing power will at least double by 2030 compared to 2025. Specifically, computing power dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) will increase to at least four times the 2025 level. Germany's Minister for Digitalization and National Modernization, Carsten Wierdeberger, stated that the strategy aims to meet the rapidly growing demand for data processing driven by AI applications, cloud services, and digitalization processes. "Globally, we clearly have significant ground to catch up," Wierdeberger said. The strategy document, which is set to be submitted for approval by the German Cabinet, outlines 28 specific measures, with the core goal of positioning Germany as Europe's leading data center hub with data sovereignty.
