Senator John Thune is trying to pretend like there is no way to get to 51 votes for the Save Act. What he is not mentioning is that he refuses to twist arms or use the leverage that he has. They can force Senators to change votes when they care. They can withhold funding on their favorite projects. They can withhold fundraising help on their next re-election. They can attach the Save Act to other must past legislation, forcing it thru. That is how they often get unpopular things with only 20% support thru. There was very little support for the last $60 billion in Ukraine funding, but they got it thru for Biden by attaching the Ukraine funding to other legislation that was needed.(Wall Street Mav)
