IBM Completes $11 Billion Acquisition of Data Streaming Platform Confluent

Golden Finance reports that IBM today announced the completion of its acquisition of Confluent, Inc., a data streaming platform relied upon by over 6,500 enterprises, including 40% of Fortune 500 companies, to enable real-time operations. IBM and Confluent have jointly developed an intelligent data platform that provides real-time, trusted data for every AI model, agent, and automated workflow, enabling large-scale operations in both on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.
Confluent, built on Apache Kafka®, the standard for data streaming, has been integrated into the operational architectures of the world's largest enterprises, with customers spanning industries such as financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. Under the terms of the agreement, IBM acquired all issued and outstanding common shares of Confluent for $31 per share in cash, valuing the company at approximately $11 billion.
