[OpenSea Delays SEA Token Issuance, New Date Yet to Be Announced] According to The Block, OpenSea CEO Devin Finzer announced that the SEA token issuance originally scheduled for the first quarter will be delayed, with no new timeline provided. Finzer stated that the team has been working diligently, and the foundation initially planned to initiate related steps during the March 30 event but decided to postpone. He acknowledged the challenging conditions of the current crypto market and emphasized that SEA only has one chance to launch. Rather than forcing it on the original date, it’s better to ensure everything is fully prepared. In October last year, OpenSea disclosed its SEA token issuance plan, in which 50% of the supply would be allocated to the community. Finzer also mentioned that the current rewards program will be the final round. OpenSea is transitioning from an NFT marketplace to a multi-chain trading hub and perpetual contract protocol.
