**[US, UK, and Canada Jointly Launch "Operation Atlantic" to Combat Crypto Phishing Scams]**
Odaily Planet Daily reports that law enforcement agencies from the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada have jointly launched a multinational operation named "Operation Atlantic," focusing on combating "approval-phishing" scams targeting crypto users. The Ontario Securities Commission stated that these scams often disguise themselves as pop-ups or prompts from trusted applications or services, tricking users into granting malicious wallet permissions. Once authorized, attackers can control the wallet and transfer assets.
Data shows that crypto scams are projected to generate at least $14 billion in on-chain illegal revenue by 2025, and as more involved wallets are identified, the total scale is expected to approach $17 billion. Law enforcement agencies pointed out that current scam activities increasingly rely on social engineering, AI-generated content, and "Phishing-as-a-Service" platforms.
This operation is being advanced collaboratively by multiple law enforcement agencies. Regulators stated that the new initiative will help identify victim wallets, issue timely warnings to potential victims, and attempt to trace and freeze stolen crypto assets, reducing the opportunities for criminals to profit further.
