INDIAN LPG TANKERS SAFELY CROSS STRAIT OF HORMUZ
Two India-flagged LPG tankers have safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz and are heading to India, marking a rare passage through the increasingly risky waterway.
The Shivalik is expected to reach India on Monday, while the Nanda Devi will berth early Tuesday, according to a senior Indian shipping official. Both vessels crossed the strait early Saturday and were not escorted by the Indian Navy.
The transit followed a recent call between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, and came after India helped repatriate more than 140 Iranian nationals from an Iranian vessel.(*Walter Bloomberg)
