[ByteDance Plans to Suspend Global Launch of Seedance 2.0] BlockBeats News, March 16: According to a report by The Information, ByteDance has suspended the global launch plan for its latest video generation model, Seedance 2.0, following a series of copyright disputes with several major Hollywood studios and streaming platforms. Last month, multiple U.S. studios, including Disney, issued legal threats, prompting ByteDance to state that it would take measures to prevent its AI video generator Seedance 2.0 from being used to infringe intellectual property rights without authorization. Last month, Disney sent a cease-and-desist letter to ByteDance, accusing it of using Disney characters to train and power the Seedance 2.0 model without permission. Disney alleged that ByteDance preloaded Seedance with a library of pirated copyrighted characters, covering IPs from franchises such as *Star Wars* and *Marvel*, and disguised these characters as public domain materials. ByteDance had originally planned to launch Seedance 2.0 to global users in mid-March, but the plan has now been suspended. ByteDance's legal team is currently investigating and addressing potential legal issues, while engineers are enhancing protective mechanisms to prevent the model from generating content that could lead to further intellectual property infringements.
